I would like to share with you a little bit about who I am and how I came to be here in this, my own little corner of cyberspace. I am a country girl from rural New Hampshire, USA, and although I have also lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, Massachusetts and upstate New York, with some extended visits to the Dakotas, I have returned in recent years, with my husband and spiritual partner, Nathan, to this beautiful lakes and mountains region of my home state.
Nathan and I were married in 2001, and in 2003 we bought this wonderful c.1800 double post and beam cape on 5 acres of land, and our vision of opening a holistic healing center began in earnest. After a year and a half of “adventures in renovation and repair” we opened the doors to WolfStone Holistic Healing Center and Gifts from Nature & Spirit in September of 2004. Since then we, and WolfStone, have continued to evolve and grow. In 2006 we closed out most of our gift shop, keeping only a limited offering of stones and crystals, in a decision to focus more completely on our respective and joint healing work.
For me, that work - a true “labor of love” - consists mainly of a spiritual ministry, the practice of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT); energy healing work; connecting self and others with angels, spirit guides, totem animals and earth spirits; ecstatic dance; sharing my songs of spirit and joy; helping Lightworkers and Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow children to connect with their true inner being and purpose; and always more – in the ever-unfolding mystery of beauty that is this dancing upon the earth as a spirit being in human form.
My journey into healing work began with my own need for healing. A series of injuries, some dating back to my childhood, exacerbated by several severe emotional traumas, and continuing with a series of car accidents, two in my late 20’s and a “last-straw” accident in 1992, as well as the after-effects of an unnecessary throat surgery in 1989, all combined to leave me unable to work, in constant pain and very depressed. Eventually labeled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS), depression, anxiety, sleep maintenance disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Diabetes 2, and various back, neck and other bodily injuries and limitations – I was at about as low a point as I could get. All that the doctors I went to for help could offer me was drugs, more drugs….and still more drugs. Counseling for the depression, for the most part, led me in circles of endless talk about my issues with no substantial relief.…oh, and more drugs. At one point I was on nine different prescribed medications, some merely to counter-act the negative side-effects of some of the others.
Still in almost constant pain and despondency, unable to work, or (so I believed) to effectively single-parent my son, I was on a downward spiral. I barely left my house unless someone made me….and one day a friend did just that – taking me with her to visit a mutual friend, who just happened to have been recently Reiki-attuned, and who was eager to practice on any and all volunteers. As I sat in the chair in her kitchen, and she placed her hands gently on my shoulders and began “Reiki-ing” me, I felt something strange….a warm energy that radiated through my body.
I was sitting in my usual poor posture, due to a curvature in my mid-back resulting from an undiagnosed childhood spinal injury, which had eventually calcified, effectively fusing several of my vertebrae into a “locked” position, much to the frustration of the many chiropractors and osteopaths throughout the years who had failed to successfully “adjust” that area. Suddenly I felt, and actually heard, a gentle popping in the center of my back, and as I sat, receiving the healing energy, I felt my back slowly start to straighten, to uncurl. When my friend was finished, I felt as though I was several inches taller than I had been when I sat down, and my back was straighter! A week later I attended my first Reiki attunement. From that point on, I continued to study and explore alternative healing modalities, and soon my feet were firmly on the path to self-healing, eventually leading to my healing work with others.
It was hand-in-hand with this process that my spiritual journey also began to actively unfold. I had long been a "spiritual seeker," having moved on from my Catholic upbringing in my late teens. Over the years I had studied various Eastern philosopies, many aspects of metaphysics and also Native American spirituality, and had found much that I resonated with. It was in this time that all I had come to understand so far began to coalesce into a greater understanding of myself and the Universe.
I am greatly honored to have been gifted with the opportunity to study and work with several wonderful teachers*, as well as receiving guidance and help along the way from many amazing spiritual sources, most prominent among them my dear Guardian Angels Niothella and Diona, Master Teacher Orion, Archangels Ariel, Michael, Raphael, Metatron and Sandalphon, many spirit guides, various crystal energies and my many beloved totem guides, chief among them: Wolf, Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, White-tailed Deer, Dolphin, Dragonfly, Turtle, Snake and Chipmunk.
A long-time artist/crafter, I also love to express my creative flow in the making dreamcatchers and gemstone jewelry, both of which you will eventually find available through this site. I also anticipate the eventuality of the creation of 2 CD’s of my “joyful noise” – songs of spirit and celebration.
In these pages I will share with you more about these many interests, and anything else that comes forth to be shared as well. I welcome your comments and questions.
*Special appreciation goes to Libby Barnett, the Reiki Master who first helped place my feet onto the path, and to Rev. Corinne Ramage, founder of The Healing Fellowship of the Unified Mother-Father, for her wisdom teaching and guidance, and to Karen Berggren (author of "Circle of Shaman") and Morwen Twofeathers (of Earth Drum Circle) for helping me learn to "dance my truth."
